A Look Inside

With their Fatal1ty 750W, OCZ have created a power supply, that features a single rail design. Other than that the manufacturer succeeded in provided their Fatal1ty 750W unit with surprisingly tidy internals, although the sheer number of components used is rather high. There are quite large aluminium profiles taking care of adequated cooling. A closer look at the APFC capacitor shows, that OCZ decided to euip this PSU with a one from Nippon Chemi Con and it features 470uF at 105°C.
Since this is a fully modular power supply, OCZ hat to provide this unit with a daughter PCB, where there are the connectors for the cables. Other manufacturers usually use the additional space on the daughter PCB to install an armada of additional filter cap. In case of this unit there are four additional caps. It is also a good sign that OCZ decided to use rather thick wire to transport most of the power.
