NVMe capable SSDs are growing increasingly popular these days, offering much higher transfer speeds than your usual SATA drive. New markets always offer new opportunities and that on the other hand means that different vendors will launch new products. Plextor is one of those having presented their new M8Se NVMe SSD during CES 2017.



First RGB kit from Corsair

During CES 2017 Corsair has revealed a new RGB memory kit. Corsair already had several products in its portfolio that featured LED lighting, but none of those offered RGB capabilities. According the latest news from the manufacturer, there will soon be Vengeance DDR4 RGB memory kits available.


Two cores and four threads

With the launch of Kaby Lake Intel has brought change to their Pentium lineup as well. These chips will now for the first time support Hyperthreading. This means there are now Pentium CPUs with two cores and four threads available for as little as 75 Euro.

Big temperature gap

Intel’s Kaby Lake CPUs are finally available and meanwhile there is even whole lot of suitable Z270 motherboards available. Although the Z270 motherboards are basically a refresh it appears that some vendors are still dealing with issues every there and there. Our friends over at Gamersnexus for example have spotted some abnormal behavior regarding CPU temperatures.


First WHQL release in 2017

After almost one month has passed since the last driver update, AMD has a new version ready up its sleeve. With Radeon Software Crimson ReLive 16.12.2 WQHL Driver AMD releases the first WHQL driver in 2017. This release should bring significant performance improvements in quite a few games compared to the first version.


Neue Produkte inklusive Gehäuse

Lian Li has also been present at CES 2017 and they’ve had a few new products for display. Already a few years ago Lian Li has introduced a desk computer case and now they are ready to launch a model that can house two systems. As always they’ve also shown new high-end PC cases.

New CPU coolers and power supplies

During CES 2017 Cooler Master has announced a new products including CPU coolers and power supplies. During the past years Cooler Master has introduced several new CPU coolers and now they are refreshing their series. Following the trend, they’re also adding RGB lighting effects.


For Supremacy Evo series water blocks

With the upcoming socket AM4, AMD is going to change where the mounting holes are - for the first time after almost 10 years. Actually it was to be expected that the upcoming socket AM4 would require different mounting kits since the socket has different dimensions. A few cooler vendors have already updated their models and amongst them there is EK Water Blocks also offering a new retention kit.


Six new models

At CES 2017 ASRock has shown their first batch of AM4 motherboards for AMD Ryzen processors and Bristol Ridge APUs. Meanwhile there quite a few pictures available online and especially the two models, that are based on the AMD X370 chipset look interesting.

During CES 2017

The guys from LinusTechTips have token few shots of upcoming AMD Vega 10 graphics card during the CES 2017. The GPU used during the show is a pre-production model which also feature an additional PCB for monitor all the signals. Although there aren't many details about the graphics card, we can already guess some specification.


New names and new units

During CES 2017 Seasonic has announced that their extensive lineup of power supplies is about to undergo a lot of changes. In fact that does make perfect sense, since the Titanium Prime series units, which have been introduced a few months ago, now embody the new high-end series, dethroning the what was formerly know as Platinum Series.


No need special edition

During CES 2017 AMD has unveiled that all the upcoming Ryzen CPUs will feature an unlocked multiplier. In other words every processor can be overclocked easily. You might remember that the overclockable parts used to be marketed as “Black Edition”, which appears not to be the case anymore.


M.2 NVMe solid state drives

Toshiba has first shown their new BG series of SSDs, which are based on a multi-chip module. The company combines their own controller and TLC NAND flash in a M.2 package with PCI-Express 3.0 x2 interface and NVMe protocol.


A bit late to the party

EVGA is the last one amongst the larger motherboard vendors to announce their Z270 motherboards. Like when in the past, when a new chipset was launched, EVGA has prepared three new models. This time they’ve come up with the EATX form factor Z270 Classified K, the ATX flavored Z270 FTW K and the ITX Z270 Stinger.


Two Aorus motherboards

During CES 2017 Gigabyte has shown four upcoming AM4 motherboards. So far there aren't many details available on motherboards for the upcoming Ryzen CPUs, so we’re pretty happy to get our hands on new imagery, especially since two of them belong to Gigabyte’s Aorus high-end series.
