Everything that involves NAND flash memory has grown to what is today a huge business and throughout the past few years the big names such as Samsung, Micron and SK Hynix have been investing heavily in research and development. One of the results of this is that today we have consumer SSDs with up to 2TB capacity due to 48-layer 3D NAND flash chips. So far it looks like Samsung is perfectly on track to soon launch the next generation of SSDs due to 64-layer 3D NAND with even higher capacities.

During Computex 2017, MSI has shown their first batch of X299 motherboards for Intel's Basin Falls platform. EK Water Blocks announced that they are working on a new water block for MSI’s GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. The block is going to look similar to the models EK produced for the non-Ti version.

Dell has expanded its InfinityEdge series with a new monitor which features a 38-inch panel and 3440 x 1440 resolution. Furthermore the monitor comes with a KVM switch and USB Type-C port. According to Dell the display covers 99 percent of the Adobe RGB and sRGB color spectrum and a few other color standards.

During Computex 2017, Fractal Design has shown several PC cases and we are going to do a quick roundup of all the products. Fractal has recently released the Focus G series and during Computex they have shown different colors like white, red and gunmetal grey, moving away from the traditional black design. NVIDIA has announced that from today, June 13th, until June 27th they will be bundling both a copy of Destiny 2 and guaranteed Beta access to the game with the purchases of selected GeForce GTX GPUs and NVIDIA based gaming PCs.

Toshiba announced their Tecra X40 notebook, which is based on the 7th generation of Intel Core processors and a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 multi-touch display. The Tecra X40 is supposed to offer 13 hours of battery life. In addition to the standard configurations, Toshiba will also offer a wide variety of build-to-order options.

Alienware has expanded its monitor lineup with another model, featuring a 25-inch VA panel with 1920 x 1080 FullHD resolution. The grey-to-grey response time is 1ms and the refresh rate is up to 240Hz. Apart from that this monitor will be available with either Nvidia G-Sync (AW2518H) or AMD FreeSync, (AW2518HF) support built-in.

Dell has revealed their new Alienware Area-51 gaming desktops based on the latest high performance AMD and Intel processors. As the name suggests, the Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition is a pre-built system which is going to be equipped with AMDs Ryzen Threadripper CPUs

Next to the redesigned Cosmos and HAF cases, Cooler Master has unveiled three models based on the new MasterBox Q series. While the first two models are mid-towers, the MasterBox Q series comes with a smaller footprint.

A few weeks ago AMD announced their Ryzen Threadripper series of processors. As we all know meanwhile these chips will feature even more cores than the currently available Ryzen 7 CPUs and on top of that they will be based on a new AMD high-end desktop platform. According to the latest rumors AMD is to launch RYZEN Threadripper on July 27th.

During the pre-show days at the PC Gaming Show E3, Intel has revealed the launch date for its Core X series of CPUs. The first Kaby Lake-X and Skylake-X chips will go on pre-order by June 19 and the first units are going to be shipped the following week. At launch everything from the four core Core i5-7640K chip all the way up to the ten core Core i9-7900X processor is going to be available.
