A few months ago, GALAX introduced their new GTX 1070 Katana graphics card which features a single slot cooler. Due to the cooler’s size, the card offers a very sleek design. The GeForce GTX 1070 Katana is the world’s first single slot GTX 1070 and it is finally available in the US.


As fast as a NVIDIA GTX 1070

AMD’s RX Vega GPU has been spotted in the Futuremark database, showcasing performance that is similar to NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1070, which would mean that the upcoming AMD flagship graphics card won’t capable to compete with NVIDIA’s high-end models. The results posted in the Futuremark database has been gathered using a Ryzen 7 1800X processor.


Compatible with custom cards

A few months ago, during Computex 2016, Phanteks has first shown their upcoming water cooling products. During the last month, they’ve introduced a waterblock for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition graphics card and today there are water blocks for the ASUS GTX 1080 Ti Strix (compatible with ASUS STRIX’s original backplate) and GIGABYTE GTX 1080 Ti Gaming OC.


No more red

Checking at the Z270 Gaming series from MSI we can tell that few things have changed compared to the past generation based on the Intel Z170 chipset. For example the color scheme of the entire series is kept in black and shades of grey.

Free mounting upgrade from Noctua

Noctua has announced that it will continue its tradition of supplying customers with its SecuFirm2 mounting kits for upcoming platforms like Intel X299 for free. While most current Noctua heatsinks support the new LGA2066 socket for "Skylake-X" and "Kaby Lake-X" CPUs out of the box, older models can be upgraded with the NM-I2011 or NM-i20xx kits without additional cost.


On the GT 1030

EX Preview has taken a few pictures of NVIDIA's upcoming GP-108 GPU chip. According to the latest rumors, this chip should power the GT 1030 and requires only 30W, making it ideal for low-power multi-monitor PCs and OEM systems.

Last week we’ve spotted a rumor regarding the upcoming Galax GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Hall of Fame. Meanwhile Galax has published more details on the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Hall of Fame. This model is usually created for performance and extreme cooling enthusiasts, being equipped with a triple-fan cooler. Apart from that there is even a LCD screen on this card.

Improved support for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III

Following the launch of AMD’s ReLive 17.4.3 drivers there is already a new update available. This release is supposed to improve support for the new game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. On top of that AMD has also fixed some issues related to the Windows 10 Creators Update and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Since the ASUS ROG Maximus IX APEX is a high-end E-ATX motherboard, it is quite predictable that this motherboard could be part of some water cooling project.

AOC already has a vast portfolio of displays and with the AG322QCX the vendor is launching yet another WQHD model. Therefore the 32 inch panel supports 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution at 144Hz, which makes this particular display relevant for gaming.


To be released in Q2

In an interview with Tom’s Hardware Don Woligroski, CPU Desktop Manager at AMD, has shed some light on the performance of the upcoming Radeon RX Vega graphics cards. He mentioned that compared to the GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan Xp the performance does look really nice.

NVIDIA has announced that they’re going to launch a new game bundle in combination with their GTX 1080 Ti, GTX 1080, GTX, GTX 1070 and GTX 1060 graphics cards. If you happen to buy such a card and you also have or buy an Oculus kit you’re entitled to three VR Games.


GeForce GTX 20 series incoming

According to a report from the Chinese website MyDrivers, NVIDIA is looking to speed up on its line-up with a much earlier than expected Q3 Volta Launch. According to NVIDIA's own road-maps Volta should have launched much later by the beginning of 2018.
