Asus was definitely of the key partners back when Nvidia decided to unveil its new G-Sync technology and its first G-Sync enhanced VG248QE should be ready in the first half of 2014 with a US $399 price tag.
In case you missed it earlier, the Nvidia G-Sync technology is basically a hardware module that needs to be incorporated with the monitor and works together with Kepler-based GPUs in order to remove tearing and stuttering by adjusting the monitor refresh rate to the GPU render rate. In short, it is basically what Adaptive V-Sync should have been in the first place.
Since the same Asus VG248QE monitor currently sells at Newegg.com for around US $279.99 it is quite obvious that the premium for that small printed G-Sync board ends at US $120.
Asus VG248QE is definitely a great gaming monitor but unfortunately those that are willing to try out Nvidia G-Sync will have to wait for first half of the next year.
