Asus has announced the latest addition to its Republic of Gamers (ROG) lineup, a gaming headset and audio-console package designed for both consoles and computers. Featuring 100mm noise-isolation cups as well as 50mm drivers, the Orion promises crystal-clear sound and puny bass as well as impressive microphone sound thanks to built-in headphone amplifier and noise-cancellation.
The new Asus ROG Orion headset features 100mm cushions for whole-ear cover and comfort as well as the 50mm speakers with neodymium magnet drivers. It also comes with Spitfire II, a dedicated USB-powered audio console with built-in headphone amplifier that promises better microphone sound and environmental noise-cancellation technology.
Weighing in at 268g, the Orion should be quite comfortable and supports both Microsoft Xbox 360 as well as Sony's Playstation 3, in addition to PC and Mac systems. The rest of the features and specs include, retractable microphone and 4m of cable (2.5m headset, 1.5m Spitfire II audio console box). It is also comes with RCA-splitter and USB cables for perfect plug and play operation.
Unfortunately, Asus did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date for the Asus ROG Orion.
