During its pre-Gamescom conference held yesterday in the city of Cologne, Sony has announced that its next-generation Playstation 4 console will be released in Europe on 29th of November. In North America the Playstation 4 will be launched a bit earlier, on 15th of November.


The launch date does not come as a surprise considering that Sony certainly does not want to miss the all important Christmas shopping spree across Europe and according to Sony's exec Andrew House, the Playstation 4 will launch in a total of 32 countries. According to Sony, there has been already over a million pre-orders so it looks like Playstation 4 will be doing quite well.

In case you missed the earlier announcement, the Playstation 4 will be launched with a $399/€399/£349 price tag which makes it cheaper than Xbox One.
