According to a report over at Gameindustry.biz, Nintendo has confirmed that it is still recording a loss for each Wii U console it sell, despite the fact that it launched over nine months ago.
Nintendo already reported in its annual report that Wii U is a major factor in its 36.4 billion yen (US $387M) operating loss while Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata promised investors that they will do their best to return to Nintendo-like profits in the current fiscal year.
This basically means that the Wii U price cut, expected to hit when Microsoft and Sony launch their own next-gen consoles, is highly unlikely and that Nintendo might continue to sell the Wii U at US $300 for the basic set and US $350 for the black deluxe edition.
In any case, all is not well for Nintendo and it will definitely be even harder when Microsoft and Sony come with Xbox One and Playstation 4.
