Xbox One features need US $60 Live Gold subscription

Add that to US $499 price tag

Despite the fact that the new Xbox One delivers "thousands of dollars of value" according to Microsoft, most of the new features will actually require the US $59.99 Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to work.

Microsoft will let the unrivaled multiplayer gaming, premium entertainment apps, Internet Explorer on your TV, exclusive deals and special offers and the NFL on Xbox features to be available for free but new OneGuide, Game DVR, Skype and SmartMatch features will be limited for those that have US $59.99 Xbox Live Gold subscription.

In short, you'll get all the features that you get on Xbox 360 Xbox Live Gold subscription as well as these new that will be limited to the new Xbox One. Unfortunately, that will not come as a surprise for Xbox 360 owners as Microsoft already limited Netflix, Hulu Plus and buch of other stuff that were only available to Xbox 360 Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Sony is not that much different as it will require Playstation Plus subscription to play PS4 games online.
