Gigabyte launches H81M-HD3 motherboard

Entry-level H81 aimed at HTPC builders

While most of the entry-level H81 Express chipset based motherboards are aimed at small business and home computers, the latest H81M-HD3 motherboard from Gigabyte might also appeal to HTPC builders as well considering its form-factor and set of features.

Based on the narrow micro-ATX 244x190mm form-factor, the new H81M-HD3 features support for LGA1150 CPUs, draws power from 24+8-pin power connectors for its 2+1-phase VRM, has two DDR3 DIMM slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3 memory in dual-channel mode, has single PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot, single PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and two PCI slots.

The rest of the specs include two SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps ports, a total of six USB 3.0 ports (two via header), 8-channel integrated audio with optical SPDIF, Gigabit Ethernet, as well as dual-link DVI, D-Sub, DisplayPort and HDMI display outputs.

The new H81M-HD3 is expected to retail at around US $60.
