Havok's AI powering Microsoft's Halo: Spartan Assault

First Havok-powered Windows Phone 8 title

Havok, a provider of 3D interactive game development technology has announced that Microsoft and 343 Industries have integrated its AI technology into the Halo: Spartan Assault game title on both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms. The new top down shooter set in the Halo universe is available on Windows Phone 8 app store for US $6.99.


The story of the Halo: Spartan Assault is set between the events of Halo 3 and 4 and is a new chapter in the Halo universe series. Havok is quite proud that Halo: Spartan Assault is among the first Havok-powered titles on the Windows Phone 8 platform and noted that its engineering team has worked quite hard in order to ensure that developer can create a great mobile gaming experience on the Windows Phone 8 platform by using the same AI toolset that was used in the Halo 4 game.

Dan Ayoub, Executive Producer at 343 Industries noted that "since the series began in 2001, the Halo universe has been populated by a variety of powerful and cunning enemy combatants, and Havok is the perfect partner to provide the smarts that control these dangerous foes".
