Gigabyte release 990FXA-UD3 Rev. 4 motherboard

The fifth revision with new updates

Gigabyte has released the fifth revision of its popular Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AM3+ socket motherboard that features quite a few updates including better VRM, new heatsinks and newest UEFI BIOS.

Although the design is quite similar to the Rev 3. motherboard, the new 990FXA-UD3 Rev. 4 features a refreshed 10-phase CPU VRM with Digital Power Engine, different choice of chokes, capacitors and MOSFETs as well as new VRM and chipset heatsink that will be capable of handling higher thermal loads as well as the newest UEFI BIOS.

It of course supports AMD FX Vishera CPUs and features low footprint MOSFETs, split power-plane 10-phase CPU VRM, support for up to 64GB of DDR3-2133MHz memory in four DDR3 DIMM slots, has two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots, two PCI-Express 2.0 x4 slots, two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and single PCI slot. Rest of the features include six SATA 6Gbps ports from SB950 southbridge, two eSATA 6Gbps ports from Marvell 9172 controller, four USB 3.0 ports, 7.1-channel Realtek ALC889 audio, Gigabit Ethernet and all the regular ports and features seen on previous revisions.

Since it is only a revision of the existing product, Gigabyte's 990FXA-UD3 Rev. 4 is expected to have the same US $140 price tag.
