Sapphire releases Radeon HD 7790 2GB OC graphics card

Factory-overclocked and with a new cooler design

Sapphire has decided to introduce yet another model that will be a part of its HD 7790 lineup, the Sapphire HD 7790 2GB OC Edition graphics card.


Based on the same 28nm Bonaire GPU with Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, the new graphics card also feature 896 stream processors, has 2GB of GDDR5 memory and a 128-bit memory interface. The Sapphire HD 7790 2GB OC Edition got factory overclocked to 1050MHz for the GPU and 6.4GHz for those 2GB of GDDR5 memory.

The new graphics card also launched with a new cooler design that combines a dual heatpipe system and single aerofoil section fan assembly with a metal backplate that provides cooling to memory chips on the backside of the PCB as well as provide additional PCB rigidity. The new cooler design also implements a finned heatsink that passes through the PCB and is attached to the backplate providing additional cooling.

The new Sapphire HD 7790 2GB OC Edition features two DVI, HDMI and a single DisplayPort outputs with support for up to four independent displays.

The new Sapphire HD 7790 2GB OC Edition will be bundled with a voucher for a free copy of the Bioshock Infinite game and should be available sometimes this month, according to Sapphire.
