Acer working on Iconia A1-810 7.9-inch tablet

Wants to compete with iPad Mini

Acer is apparently preparing a new tablet that will be using a 7.9-inch screen aimed to compete with Apple's iPad Mini.

Based on ARM Cortex-A9 MediaTek MT8125 1.2GHz clocked quad-core chip, the new Acer Iconia A1-810 will be built around a 7.9-inch IPS panel with 1024x768 resolution. The Mediatek chip is paired up with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage while the rest of the specs will include 5-megapixel rear and VGA front camera, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3250mAh battery.

The precise dimensions are set at 208.7x145.7x10.5mm and it weighs 460 grams. It will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and should be priced at around US $250 once it ships in June.
