3DMark Overclocking Contest Offers over $16,000 in Prizes

Today FutureMark kicks off the first official overclocking competition using their new 3DMark benchmark. Sponsored by GALAXY and KFA2, the contest has more than $16,000 worth of prizes, including limited edition 3DMark Fire Strike monster statues not available anywhere else.

MARCH 6, 2012 – Futuremark and GALAXY announced the start today of GALAXY Ice Storm, the first official overclocking contest using the new version of 3DMark released in February. For the next four weeks, overclockers worldwide can win more than $16,000 USD in prizes by submitting the highest scores in the new 3DMark Ice Storm, Cloud Gate and Fire Strike benchmark tests. Galaxy Ice Storm Contest
March 6 to April 3, 2013
Four ways to win. Four weeks of competition. Prizes worth more than USD $16,000.

The contestants with the highest score in each category at the end of the contest will each win a limited edition 3DMark Fire Strike monster statue, faithfully created by 3D printing the original 3D model used in the Fire Strike test. Winners will also be awarded $3,000 USD plus a bonus of $2,000 if their score is a new official 3DMark world record at the close of the contest.

3DMark Ice Storm Category
$3,000 USD top prize for the best 3DMark Ice Storm score from a system with a single CPU and single GPU, limited to GTX 680 and below. There is a bonus prize of $2,000 USD if the winning score is a new 3DMark Ice Storm single GPU world record in the Futuremark Overclocking Hall of Fame at the end of the contest.

3DMark Cloud Gate Category
$3,000 USD top prize for the best 3DMark Cloud Gate score from a system with a single CPU and single GPU, limited to GTX 680 and below. There is a bonus prize of $2,000 USD if the winning score is a new 3DMark Cloud Gate single GPU world record in the Futuremark Overclocking Hall of Fame at the end of the contest.

3DMark Fire Strike Category
$3,000 USD top prize for the best 3DMark Fire Strike score. Multiple CPUs and GPUs are allowed, including the GALAXY GeForce GTX TITAN. There is a bonus prize of $2,000 USD if the winning score is a new 3DMark Fire Strike world record in the Futuremark Overclocking Hall of Fame at the end of the contest.

Lucky Draw Winners
Twelve lucky people selected at random from qualifying entries will each win a GALAXY GeForce GTX 650 Ti GC graphics card. One lucky person will win a limited edition 3DMark Fire Strike monster statue.
