Unofficial reason for Xbox One delay

Poor yields to blame

According to a report from Digitimes, Microsoft has lowered shipping forecast for Xbox One in 2013 due to poor yield rates.

In this context Digitimes is even mentioning exact numbers. Originally Microsoft wanted to reach the goal of 7 millionen units by the end of this year, but now this number has been lowered to 6.2 million units.

If you start looking for reasons, then the main issues can be found with the camera module, the optical drive as well as within the assembly. Apparently there must be quite a few things going on behind curtains.

According to Microsofts official statement they are optimizing the voice recognition. If we now keep in mind that usually Digitime's sources are very accurate, it's starting to look like they're telling us something but not what's actually going on.
