Although HardwareZone already leaked eight pictures of MSI's upcoming GeForce GTX 780 Lightning graphics card, MSI decided to upload two detailed pictures of the card's power design as well as TwinFrozr fan to Facebook. Obviously we hade to grab them from there.
A closer look at the VRM area shows, that there is a 16+3+1 phase design, that MSI is deploying with this card. Once again MSI is proud of the high quality of the components. Therea re Hi-C capacitors, new SFC's, copper MOS, dard solid caps as well as DrMOS 4 chips. Apparently this power design makes the card even ready for extreme overclocking.
On the second picture you can see the cooler from its upper side and bottom side. First of all you can see the three fans, which keep the card cool. The ones on the outside featurea a diameter of 100 millimeter and the yellow one in the center measures 70 millimeter. After the shroud around the fans got removed, you can see the construction, which keeps everything tightly in place. On the bottom side of the cooler there you can see no less than seven heatpipes, which all have a diameter of eight millimeter. There is also a massive, nickel plated base plate, which surrounds all heatpipes. Apart from that you can also find a massive fin stack.
Meanwhile it should take no more thatn six days until MSI officially launches die new Lightning card on the 28th of August 2013.
