AMD has set the date and will be flying the selected members of the press to a "volcanic island" of Hawaii on September 25th to unveil its new flagship GPU, the 28nm Hawaii.
Unfortunately, AMD has left all the details for the 25th of September announcement day so we still have to stick with earlier rumors. Charlie from Semiaccurate.com managed to get a clarification from AMD that the even in Hawaii will be a tech day rather than the launch day. The launch should be sometimes in Q4 2013 and there is no precise date carved in stone.
According to various info, AMD will also show more Battlefield 4 details as well and we are quite sure that we will see more details regarding the Hawaii GPU as we draw closer to the the 25th of September. While most specifications are still just plain rumors, it is already quite clear that AMD will go against Nvidia's GK110 GPU and we'll have to wait to see how good will the Hawaii actually be.
It will certainly be a nice scenery for selected members of the press.
