Silverstone's next-generation Fortress FT04 PC case has finally appeared in retail/e-tail showing what to expect from Silverstone's new flagship ATX full-tower case. Hitting US Newegg.com at US $229, the Fortress FT04 is certainly a high-end case judging by the price but also packs quite a few features including a design that is similar to recently introduced Raven RV04 case.
Silverstone decided to use steel and aluminum combination for the new Fortress FT04 and while frame, rear and side panels are made out of steel, the front door and top panel will stick with much lighter aluminum. The Fortress FT04 will be available in a couple of versions, with and without an acrylic side window and in black and silver color trim options. The exact dimensions are set at 219x546x482mm (WxHxD) and it weighs 11.5kg.
As expected from Silverstone's high-end Fortress case, this one also packs quite a few unique features including different motherboard orientation where the motherboard is practically upside down. It features support for EATX, SSI-EEB, SSI-CEB and, of course, ATX motherboard and offers enough room for two 5.25-inch, seven 3.5-inch (two with hot-swap) and four 2.5-inch drives. The FT04 comes with two Silverstone AP182 180mm intake fans at the front and has room for a 120mm rear exhaust fan.
The new Fortress FT04 supports 33.7cm long and 17cm tall graphics card as well as up to 16.5cm tall CPU coolers. It also features a PCB stabilizing beam for add-on and graphics cards.
