AMD bringing better coolers with the HD 8000 series

Much better than on HD 7000 series

According to a report from Computerbase it appears that AMD might be working on much better cooling solutions that will debut with the upcoming Radeon HD 8000 series graphics cards.

AMD's product manager noted for Computerbase that the next coolers will be better and although it did not go into detail, there have been some changes made to the cooling systems and should end up to be much better than what we have seen on the HD 7900 series.

Both GPU companies have done a lot to make their reference coolers much better and switching to vapor-chamber coolers was a big jump for those. Nvidia currently has the upper hand as its GTX Titan cooler seen on GTX 770, 780 and the GTX Titan is quite a piece of work and actually does a great job, even when compared to custom-cooling solutions.

Of course, AMD will not focus much on the actual cooler and leave some room for AIB partners and their own custom-cooling solutions and focus more on performance rather than the cooler. AMD is generally a bit less strict when it comes to custom-cooling solutions and when compared to Nvidia which usually has a much more strict policy.

Unfortunately, AMD's product managed did not talk about the HD 8000 series but judging by earlier reports, we expect to see them later this year.
