Asus has announced the new graphics cards that will be a part of its Geforce 700 series lineup, the Asus Geforce GTX 770 DirectCU II OC. As the names suggest, it will feature Asus' own DirectCU II cooler and a slight factory-overclock.
In case you missed it earlier, the Geforce GTX 770 is based on a 28nm GK104 GPU and feature 1536 CUDA cores, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPs. While reference GTX 770 cards ended up at 1046MHz base and 1085MHz Boost clocks, Asus decided to give a slight factory overclock to its DirectCU II OC version setting it to work at 1059MHz base and 1100MHz Boost clocks. The 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface remained at already impressive 7010MHz.
In case you missed it on some earlier Asus graphics cards, the DirectCU II cooler features all-copper heatpipes with direct touch and arranged in SSU shape in order to provide greater dissipation capabilities without increasing the actual size of the cooler. Paired up with two sound-suppressing 80mm fans, the DirectCU II should be at around 20 percent cooler and up to three times quieter when compared to already good reference GTX 770 cooler.
Asus also implemented its DIGI+ VRM 10-pahse power design with Super Alloy Power components like capacitors, chokes and MOSFETs, that reduce power noise by up to 30 percent, eliminate buzzing and increase the longevity of the graphics card by up to 2.5 times.
Unfortunately, Asus did not reveal any price or the official launch date but a quick check at our favorite price search engine reveals it listed at around €429, a mere €30 more compared to what the reference one should cost.
