The rare 1976 Apple 1 computer that was offered at auction in Cologne has been sold for an incredible €516,461 or US $632,590 to a client in Far East.
The selling price exceeded the original US $400,000 expectation and it was not a big surprise considering that this was one the six original Apple computers that is actually in full working order. In case you missed it, back in 1970s when it was release it sold for US $666.6.
The buyer remained anonymous and Apple 1 was original hand built and assembled by Steve Wozniak and Jobs in a garage so it does not come as a surprise that these are quite rare and now quite expensive.
In any case, it is certainly a nice provision for the auction house and a nice piece of technology memorabilia for the wealthy buyer.
