According to the report, Qualcomm exceeded the expectations by reporting a 24 percent increase in revenues to US $6.12 billion from US $4.94 billion. Share value jumped up by 16 percent up to US $1.17 per share. Qualcomm noted that it actually shipped 173 million MSM (mobile Station Modem) chips, scoring US $61.1 billion in sales. As expected, the most of it came from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and 800 SoCs and it is no wonder that Qualcomm is actually raising its expectations since these chips are practically everywhere.
As noted, Qualcomm paid US $431 million, or US $0.25 per share, of cash dividends. Qualcomm is on a quite a roll and the fact that its Snapdragon 600 and 800 chips scored quite a few design wins will definitely bring even better results in its future financial reports.
