Asus launches Radeon HD 7990 graphics card

Same card, different box

Same as most, if not every AMD AIB partner, Asus has also launched its own Radeon HD 7990 Malta flagship graphics card based on two 28nm Tahiti GPUs.

Following AMD's reference design, Asus' Radeon HD 7990 graphics card also uses the same dual-slot, triple fan cooler and works at 950MHz base, 1000MHz boost GPU clocks and feature 6GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 6000MHz.

In case you missed it, the AMD Radeon HD 7990 is a dual-GPU graphics card with two fully enabled 28nm Tahiti GPUs, featuring a total of 4096 stream processors. It needs two 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors and features four DisplayPort and single DVI output.

As it is the case with all Radeon HD 7990 graphics cards that will appear on the market, Asus' one will also be bundled with a total of eight free games as a part of AMD's Never Settle Reloaded campaign.

  • Tomb Raider (Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix)
  • Hitman: Absolution (IO Interactive/Square Enix)
  • Sleeping Dogs (Square Enix)
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Eidos/Square Enix)
  • Crysis 3 (Crytek/EA)
  • Far Cry 3 (Ubisoft)
  • Far Cry: Blood Dragon (Ubisoft)
  • BioShock Infinite (Irrational Games/2K)

According to press release, the Asus Radeon HD 7990 will be available worldwide from late May.
