Asus has been on a quite a roll when it comes to its Republic of Gamers accessory lineup and in addition to the recently revealed ROG Raidr PCI-Express based SSD, it has now launched the new ROG Xonar Phoebus Solo 7.1 PCI-Express based gaming sound card.
Specification and feature-wise the new Xonar Phoebus features 118dB signal-to-noise ratio, powerful 600 ohm headphone amplifier as well as support for Dolby Home Theater V4 and DTS UltraPC II surround sound. It also comes with an EMI shield and Asus' own Hyper Grounding technology that should provide minimum interference and much cleaner audio. It uses the PCM1796 digital-to-analog converter and TPA6120A2 600 ohm impedance headphone amplifier.
It will also ship with software with game optimized profiles as well as DTS UltraPC II suite. Unfortunately, the price or the actual availability date have not been announced.
