Nokia working on phablet device

Wants to compete with Galaxy Note

Although Nokia has been pretty silent regarding its upcoming new devices, according to a report by Financial Times, we might soon see the company's first phablet.

In addition to the recently rumored Lumia 928 smartphone heading to AT&T, Nokia is apparently working on a larger phablet like device as well. Microsoft has recently updated support for Windows Phone OS adding support for 1080p screens and Nokia is rumored to be the first company to come up with such a device.

Samsung has been doing quite well on the phablet market with its Galaxy Note lineup and it is no wonder that Nokia wants a piece of it. There have been a couple of rumors regarding Nokia tablet as well but Nokia's CEO, Stephen Elop noted that it could only happen if the company could add something different and make a unique device.

Although it reported an operating loss in Q1 2013, Nokia has been doing pretty well and sold 5.6 million Lumia smartphones in that same quarter so the Finnish company might be coming back.
