MSI has unveiled a new series of graphics cards based on AMD Radeon Polaris chipsets. At the moment there are only two SKUs in the new MECH 2 range, the MSI Radeon RX 570 and 580 graphics cards. The cards are being launched as MSI claims to have formulated a new thermal design, allowing for higher core and memory speeds.
The cards feature a new thermal design paired with the second-generation of the company's Torx fan. According to MSI, this new design should generate 22% more air pressure and reduce noise levels. The heatsink sports 6mm copper heat pipes that transfer heat from the nickel-plated copper baseplate to the aluminum fins. The cooler features a black cover with red accents. Furthermore there are several RGB LEDs that can be customized via software.
MSI isn't the first company that has unveiled or rebranded a series of graphics cards. This series of graphics cards has been unveiled only 10 days after NVIDIA ended the GPP, but it's possible that MSI started the rebranding a few days before NVIDIA's decision. In other words, it's too late for MSI to change again the AMD series. MSI should unveil the full specification during next month.
