NVIDIA releases GeForce 382.19 hotfix drivers

Performance improvement for Prey

Following the launch of Prey, some users have reported issues in combination with their NVIDIA graphics cards. NVIDIA has already been looking into that and today they’re releasing the GeForce 382.19 hotfix driver. According to NVIDIA's changelog this Hotfix only is purely to solve issues with the game Prey. If you do play this game then it’s highly recommendable to get this update, otherwise you can ignore it.

The latest version of NVIDIA’s 382.19 hotfix drivers, resolves a stutter issue experienced on some configurations while playing Prey. Prey is a single-player shooter from Arkane Studios. Unlike the previous title Dishonored 2, which used the Void engine (based on id's Rage engine), Arkane Studios uses Crytek’s CryEngine for Prey.

According to our friends over Techpowerup, you don’t need an exceptionally strong pixel accelerator if you want to play this game smoothly. A current generation mid-range graphics card like a GTX 1060 6GB manages to score about 60fps in 1080p and 1440p. If you have a 4K monitor, we suggest at least a GTX 1070.

As always, you can download the new GeForce 382.19 hotfix drivers over at NVIDIA's support page or automatically via the Geforce Experience software.
