ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon unveiled

Water cooling and air cooling at same time

ASUS has unveiled their ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon graphics card, which is - apparently - based on the new flagship chip from NVIDIA. Like the previous model it features a water cooling block as well as a heatsink with a dense aluminum fin stack and several heatpipes.

Compared to the previous version based on the NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti, ASUS has completely overhauled the design of this new ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon. Although the card looks similar, there is a larger and improved heat sink. Furthermore this pixel accelerator occupies two slots. A quick look at the heatsink reveals there is a dense aluminum fin stack that has been combined with two fans. The entire cooler has been kept in black and there is a solid back plate presenting the ROG logo. Since all the latest ASUS products have been equipped with an armada of LEDs for RGB lighting, this particular card also supports the so called AURA RGB LED feature.

So far there is no information on the clock speeds available. Nevertheless it’s quite likely that this card will ship factory-overclocked. In the past the Poseidon graphics card from ASUS always came with substantial factory overclocks and clock speeds will certainly be higher than with most other factory-overclocked cards.

So far ASUS has not revealed details on pricing regarding their ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon but we are sure that it will be pretty expensive. The ROG GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon should become available in mid-April.
