Following the latest rumors that appeared on Twitter, AMD might introduce a Ryzen CPU with four cores and four threads in the coming weeks. This is supposed to be an entry-level processor with a TDP of 45W. Since most of the Intel Core i3 and Core i5 series are locked, this small Ryzen CPU could a be pretty interesting choice.
At the moment we don't even know this CPUs retail product name. Since all Ryzen CPUs will feature an unlocked multiplier and you don’t have to have a motherboard based on the top end AMD X370 chipset to overclock the processor, we believe that this CPU could shake the entry-level market up by quite a bit.
With a TDP of 45W, these quad core Ryzen processors might have a very good performance/watt ratio. According to Wccftech, all of these chips will feature a base clock frequency of 3.4GHz or higher. If AMD is really going to unveil Ryzen during the next GDC it will be really interesting to see what the have to offer in the lower price brackets for sure.
