Futuremark working on Vulkan Benchmark

For Windows and Android

With Time Spy, Futuremark has shown their first DirectX 12 based benchmark and so far it starts to look like the company is going to come up with a benchmark that relies on the Vulkan API.

According to information on Techpowerup there will also be another test that is based on the DirectX 12 API but doesn’t put as much load on the GPU as Time Spy. The difference between Time Spy and the new benchmark routing is going to be similar like the difference of Sky Diver to Fire Strike.

Nevertheless what’s actually interesting about this piece of news is that that there is going to be a new benchmark routine, benefitting from the Vulkan API. This new routing is going to be available on Windows and Android platforms.

On another note Techpowerup is also reporting that the VR benchmarks are undergoing continuous development. It shouldn’t take too long anymore until a new VR benchmark for PC and mobile platforms is going to be released. To be a bit more precise on that, the revealing part should happen during CES 2017, is going to take place in January next year.
