Gainward unveils GameSoul GTX 1080 and GTX 1070

Two new custom GPUs

Although the video card market is becoming increasingly crowded, Gainward is readying two more high-end cards as well. The new GameSoul GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 are based on a custom design with a large triple-slot heatsink. The cooler is made from aluminum but unfortunately there is also a lot of plastic and the color scheme is a bit catchier than what “your usual Westerner” is used to.

The GTX 1080 GameSoul comes factory-overclocked to 1733MHz/1873MHz Core/Boost clocks, while the GTX 1070 GameSoul has been bumped to 1620MHz/1822MHz Core/Boost frequencies. Based on the same custom PCB both cards feature LED lighting, dual-BIOS and two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Like the Founders Edition these new cards have been equipped three DisplayPorts 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b connector and one dual-link DVI port.

These cards are certainly based on a solid design and the factory-sided overclocking is also a very nice add to the package, but we do struggle a little bit with the design. Lately many other vendors have come to the point where they create products that embrace sleek looks and especially in Europe as well as in the US and Australia this is well-received. Therefore we believe these cards will be pretty hard to sell. Talking about selling, there are neither the prices nor the availability dates available regarding those new GameSoul cards.
