According to fresh rumors, AMD could be announcing a new high-end GPU in December, called the Radeon RX 490X.
According to rumors coming from Wccftech.com, AMD Radeon RX 490 will be the 4K-ready flagship that will probably launch at the similar price as the GTX 1080. There aren't many details regarding the actual graphics cards other than it will target 4K resolution and VR gaming as well as have a memory bus wider than 256-bit.
The source also suggest that it is based on either a dual-GPU Polaris 10 GPU or Vega 10, which is quite unlikely as we are not sure that AMD has the Vega GPU architecture ready for launch. The Polaris 10 dual-GPU solution is more likely as it will still give AMD a total of 4096 Stream Processors and decent performance that could cope with 4K- and VR-gaming.
If this is true, AMD was quite successful in keeping it a secret and according to the same source, it should be announced and launch at the same date in December.
Hopefully we will hear more about it soon.
