A newest leaked slide has revealed a bit more details about the upcoming AMD Zen-based Summit Ridge lineup, including possible naming scheme and price.
Although the slide leaked at Chiphell.com does not show precise pricing details, it appears that AMD is targeting the price above RMB 1500, or US $220.
Since AMD will be probably offering quad-, six- and eight-core SKUs in its upcoming Summit Ridge lineup, this suggest that entry- and mainstream-level SKUs could be priced at around US $200 to $300, while high-end could go as high as US $500.
The slide also reveals possible naming scheme for the upcoming Summit Ridge CPUs, referring to them as SR7, SR5 and SR3 lineup. Of course, AMD might be just using these SR (Summit Ridge) designations to keep the name hidden for as long as possible, but everything is possible.
As detailed earlier, AMD first plans to launch high-end eight-core Summit Ridge series CPUs with X370 chipset, AM4 socket motherboards in early January, while other SKUs could follow later.
We are quite surprised with AMD's naming scheme as it is similar to Intel's Core i3, i5 and i7 chips, but it should also allow AMD to position its chips a bit better on the market.
