ASUS unveils GTX 1060 STRIX with DirectCU II cooler

Classic cooler for new design

ASUS has unveiled yet another Geforce GTX 1060 graphics card that will have a custom PCB and classic DirectCU II cooler, the Geforce GTX 1060 6GB ROG STRIX.

Unlike the original ASUS ROG GTX 1060 STRIX, which came with the DirectCU III cooler, the new one has a shorter and custom PCB powered by a single 6-pin PCIe connector. Although it has a previous generation DirectCU cooler, the new graphics card from ASUS comes with factory-overclocked settings with 1569MHz GPU base and 1785MHz GPU Boost clocks.

The OC Mode, which can be enabled via GPUTweak software takes those clocks even further, pushing the card to work at 1595MHz base and 1811MHz GPU Boost clocks.

The 6GB of GDDR5 memory on a 192-bit memory interface remained at reference 8000MHz. It also comes with standard three DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0b and one dual-link DVI outputs.

Unfortunately, ASUS did not reveal any details regarding the availability date or the price.
