Microsoft has now officially unveiled its first Surface-branded desktop PC, the Surface Studio, which is a 28-inch all-in-one equipped with Intel's 6th generation CPUs and Nvidia mobile GPUs and comes with the Surface Dial.

Available for pre-orders as of today, the Surface Studio is targeting designers as well as content creators and is pretty much an all-in-one on steroids. The biggest feature of the Surface Studio is its 28-inch 3:2 aspect ratio touch screen, which is a mere 12.5mm thick and can output 13.5 million pixels on its 4500x3000 resolution, making it around 63 percent denser than 4K/UHD screens.

The screen is placed on a "zero-gravity hinge", which allows a lot of adjustments, including the Studio Mode position which allows it to be used as a tablet. It allows adjustments down to 20 degree angle and looks quite cool.

The Surface Studio will come with an optional device called the Surface Dial. It can be placed on the screen to give additional productivity options, like color selections and is considered as an addition to the Surface Pen.

Hardware-wise, the Surface Studio will be coming with a couple of Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Skylake CPUs, either a GTX 965M 2GB or GTX 980M 4GB GPU, 1TB or 2TB rapid hybrid drive (possibly an SSHD or SSD+HDD combination), up to 32GB of RAM as well as a 5-megapixel front camera, 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, four USB 3.0 ports, 2.1-speakers with Dolby Audio Premium, dual-microphone array and more.

The Surface Studio will start at US $2,999 and these should ship on December 15th.
