CryEngine to get Vulkan support this November

DirectX 12 multi-GPU support coming in February

According to the latest report, Crytek is planning to update its CryEngine with both Vulkan and DirectX 12 multi-GPU support soon.

According to a report from Overclock3D.net, Crytek's version 5.3 update for CryEngine, scheduled for November, will bring Vulkan API support, which will allow developers to use the API and features it bring with less coding, allowing them to focus on different tasks.

The same version 5.3 update will also bring support for Linux and MacOS via Vulkan API, also allowing developers to use it on these operating systems, pushing Vulkan API beyond Windows 10 OS.

In addition to the Vulkan API support, the new 5.4 version of the CryEngine, will also bring DirectX 12 multi-GPU support. This one is scheduled for February next-year or just in time for GDC 2017 show, which will probably attract more developers to this engine.

Hopefully, there will be no delays.
