Dell is adding another member to it's line-up of gaming displays and we have to say, the specs of this one do sound very interesting. The S2417DG supports NVIDIA G-Sync and a refresh rate of 165 Hz.
Basically the S2417DG is the S2716DG's smaller brother, which is the 27 inch version. Both displays are based on a TN panel with WHQD resolution (2560 x 1440), while the S24 features a 24 inch and the S27 a 27 inch panel. What's great about the 24 inch version in this cas is the the pixel desenty is higher and therefore everything will appear sharper.
Another key feature of both these displays is the support for G-Sync. In the case of the 24 inch display the refresh rate is 165 Hz, while the 27 inch panel works at 144 Hz. In the end the refresh rate can vary from 30 to 165 Hz, which is what will make tearing go away completely.
Continuing with the specs we find LED backlight, 1'000:1 static contrast ratio, up to 350 cd/m
2 brightness, 8 bit color depth, 170°/160° (vertical/horizontal) angular stability, 1 ms response time (gray to gray), one HDMI 1.4 and one DisplayPort 1.2 connector. Both displays can be tilted and are vertically adjustable while also offering pivot functionality.
Unfortunately there is no information on pricing as of today. Once revealed we will keep you posted.
