Core i7-6950X Broadwell-E gets delidded

Just a few hours after the launch

We managed to get a couple of pictures of the delidding process of the flagship Intel Broadwell-E Core i7-6950X CPU that has been launched just a few hours ago.

Like all the other high-end CPUs from Intel, the new flagship Broadwell-E CPU, the Core i7-6950X, is also soldered. Despite this fact, Roman Hartung, aka Der8auer, managed to remove the HIS and replace the "Indium solder preform" with a new TIM. He already published a video which is unfortunately in German, but the English version is coming soon, so we will upload it as it become available.

Bear in mind that Der8auer used its own Delid Die Mate Extreme which should be available soon as the earlier version only works on Skylake and Haswell CPUs.

Basically, you can get around 5 to 6 degrees lower temperatures with the delidded CPU, which will be a great news for those looking to do some extreme overclocking.

You can check out some of the pictures and the video below.
