EVGA has teased its newest Intel X99 motherboard that is designed for the upcoming Intel Broadwell-E CPUs, the EVGA X99 FTW K. Although similar to the original X99 FTW motherboard released earlier, there are plenty of new features.
Teased by both EVGA's Product Manager as well as EVGA's in-house overclocker, the one and only, Vince "K|NGP|N" Lucido, the new X99 FTW K uses a completely black color scheme and a somewhat better layout compared to the original X99 FTW motherboard released back in 2014.
The new motherboard will support Intel's new LGA2011-3 Broadwell-E CPUs out of the box, and has eight DDR4 DIMM slots. It also comes with five PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and one PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slot. It also lacks the PCI-Express 3.0 x4 slot which was replaced by M.2 slot, which means it will support new high-end M.2 SSDs.
The rest of the storage options include 10 SATA 6Gbps ports, which is quite strange, as it appears that EVGA decided not to include the new SATA Express or U.2 ports.
Although we can't see it clearly on leaked pictures, the motherboard is most likely powered by a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors and it also features a single 6-pin PCI-Express connector at the bottom of the board which should provide additional power to the PCI-Express slots.
The new motherboard will also include plenty of overclocking-friendly features including voltage measure points, PCIe disable switches, on-board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons and more.
We expect to see the new EVGA X99 FTW K motherboard at Computex 2016 show which kicks off on May 31st when Intel is scheduled to launch its new Broadwell-E HEDT platform.
