According to the new report, it appears that Nvidia's GP106 Pascal-based mid-range graphics cards might be coming without any additional PCIe power connector due to the great power efficiency of the Pascal GPU.
We have already reported that upcoming Nvidia GP106-based mid-range graphics cards, most likely called the GTX 1060 and GTX 1050, could launch in Autumn, or late Q3, and today we have a few more information regarding it.
According to a new report from Videocardz.com, the GP106 GPU is very power efficient and the GTX 1060 could end up with a TDP of less than 75W and so it will come without any additional PCIe power connector, just like the currently available GTX 950.
Despite a lower power requirement, the GTX 1060 will still offer a 30 to 50 percent performance improvement compared to the currently available GM206-based GTX 960 graphics cards.
Of course, we will first see Nvidia's GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 GP104-based graphics cards which should give a hint on what kind of performance and power efficiency to really expect from any future Pascal-based graphics cards.
