AMD bringing Polaris and Bristol Ridge to Computex

Radeon R9 470 and Radeon R9 480 series

According to the latest information, AMD will show two new Polaris architecture GPUs at Computex 2016 show in June, alongside the Bristol Ridge APUs.

According to a report from Benchlife.info, AMD will bring both Baffin and Ellesmere GPUs to Computex 2016 show. This will be the first time that AMD will officially show the new GPUs to public.

Both Baffin and Ellesmere are based on Polaris GPU architecture and will be a part of AMD's new Radeon R9 470 and Radeon R9 480 series. According to Benchlife.info, citing reliable sources, Baffin consumes less than 50W while Ellesmere GPU will hit 100W+ range, around 110 to 135W. This also suggest that these are not high-end GPUs and will probably cover the mid-range market.

In addition to the new Polaris GPUs, AMD will also launch its 7th generation Bristol Ridge APUs. AMD has already revealed plenty of details regarding its Bristol Ridge APUs. In case you missed it, Bristol Ridge will be based on 28nm Excavator CPU architecture and GCN 1.2 GPU architecture.

Earlier in April, Geekbench has revealed a few information regarding the AMD FX-9800P, a quad-core APU running at 2.7GHz and featuring 8 GCN 1.2 compute units which performed really well in that same benchmark.

The Computex 2016 show in June will be quite interesting as we expect new GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD.
