be quiet! has unveiled its newest Pure Power 9 series of power supply units which should bring improvements over the older L8 series but still retain great value.

To be available in 400W, 500W, 600W and 700W versions, the new Pure Power 9 PSU series from be quiet! promises superior reliability and great value as well as recognizable quiet operation.

Based on a dual 12V-rail design and coming with four PCI-Express power connectors, the new Pure Power 9 series of PSUs will have an 80 PLUS Silver certification, offering up to 91 percent power efficiency. It also features the new Active Clamp + SR power conversion technology as well as a semi-modular design, with fixed 24-pin and P8 cables.

In order to meet the "quiet operation" claim, the new Pure Power 9 PSU series uses a bottom mounted 120mm fan for cooling, which produces up to 28.8 dBA of noise under 100% load.
