AMD Polaris 10 pictured at Capsaicin event

Running Hitman at 60+ FPS and Ultra settings

AMD did not share much details regarding its Polaris architecture at its dedicated Capsaicin event at GDC 2016 but that did not stop some members of the press to get a picture of the system and the graphics card that was running Hitman game at 60+ fps and Ultra settings at the event.

AMD only showed a short demo of the Polaris 10 GPU running Hitman at 60+ fps, Ultra settings and 1440p resolution during the event but some members of the press, including the guys from Overclock3D.net, managed to get a picture of that same system.

While it does not show the graphics card in full details, the picture reveal that Polaris 10 will most likely end up with three DisplayPort 1.3, one HDMI 2.0 and even a DVI outputs. The PCB size is somewhat similar to the size of AMD's R9 Nano graphics card.

Ryan Shrout from PC Perspective also had a chance to check out the Polaris 11 GPU running passively while playing back 4K VR content, which only shows that the new 14nm FinFET manufacturing process will bring some very efficient GPUs.

It is still not clear if the Polaris 10 GPU will replace AMD's Fiji lineup or positioned below it, but pushing Hitman at that resolution with high-settings is certainly impressive.

Hopefully AMD will have the Polaris architecture ready soon as the promise of 2.5x improvement in performance per Watt is certainly something that we are looking forward to.
