Zotac puts GTX 980 in new Magnus EN980 mini PC

Makes it a VR-ready system

Zotac has unveiled yet another addition to its line of mini PCs, the Zotac Magnus EN980 which will pack GTX 980 graphics card, paired up with Core i5 Skylake CPU, making it a VR-ready system.

Unlike the Magnus EN970, which was based on Broadwell Core i5 chip and mobile GTX 970M graphics card, the Magnus EN980 will pack a whole lot more performance punch with yet to be detailed Core i5 Skylake CPU and Nvidia Geforce GTX 980, most likely the GTX 980 for Notebooks which is based on a fully-enabled GM204 GPU with 2048 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

The new Magnus EN980 will feature a custom liquid cooling solution which should keep both the CPU and the GPU well cooled. All these specifications makes the new Magnus EN980 VR-ready, or according to Zotac, makes it go beyond the recommended specifications for VR experience.

Unfortunately, Zotac is still keeping all the details for the upcoming CeBIT and GDC 2016 shows in March but the company did note that it will also come with HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, USB 3.1 Type-C port, dual Gigabit Ethernet and integrated 802.11ac WiFi.

We are certainly looking forward to see the new Zotac Magnus EN980 and we will surely keep an eye out for it.
