Gigabyte releases GA-990X-Gaming SLI motherboard

Brings M.2 and USB 3.1 to AMD3+ socket

Gigabyte has unveiled its newest AMD socket AM3+ ATX motherboard that will be based on AMD's 990X chipset, be a part of Gigabyte's G1.Gaming lineup and feature two USB 3.1 as well as 20Gbps M.2 PCIe x4 slot, the Gigabyte GA-990X-Gaming SLI.

Based on a standard ATX form-factor, the new Gigabyte GA-990X-Gaming SLI features a 11-phase CPU VRM which draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors and supports AMD's 220W FX-9000 series CPUs.

The rest of the features are pretty much standard for an AMD AM3+ socket motherboard, including support for up to 64GB of DDR3-2000 memory in four slots, two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots (running at x8/x8) two PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and two standard PCI slots and six SATA 6Gbps ports.

It also comes with plenty of USB 2.0, USB 3.0 as well as two USB 3.1 Type-A ports at the back, Intel's Gigabit I-218V Ethernet port, 7.1-channel Realtek ALC1150 based audio and some Gigabyte exclusive features like the Ultra Durable PCIe metal shielding, ambient LED, DualBIOS and more.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not revealed any details regarding the price or the availability date but we expect it to be priced at slightly over US $100.
