According to a couple of Twitter posts from AMD's top brass, it appears that we might see more details about the next-generation Polaris GPU at Game Developers Conference 2016 next month.
Scheduled to start on March 14th at Moscone Convention in San Francisco, CA, the Game Developer Conference 2016 might be quite interesting, according to AMD, as the company will apparently show a bit more details about its next-generation Polaris GPU, at least according to AMD's Chris Hook and Raja Koduri.
In a Twitter post, Chris Hook, AMD Marketing Director, tweeted that the GDC will be looking kind of bland this year and that they "need some Capsaicin to spice things up a bit."
As this is sort of a code for Polaris architecture, it did not come as a surprise that Raja Koduri, head of AMD's Radeon Technologies Group (RTG), tweeted back to Anandtech's Ryan Smith that he has nothing to worry about and that they will "make it interesting for everyone."
Last year, GDC show was quite interesting Nvidia decided to unveil its GTX Titan X graphic card so we might have a similar situation this year with Nvidia teasing its upcoming Pascal GPU at GDC and show more details during its own GPU Technology Conference (GTC), scheduled just a few weeks later.
With AMD showing more details about its next-generation Polaris GPU, the GDC 2016 just might be one of the biggest events this year, at least when it comes to GPUs.
