EVGA's GTX 980 Ti VR Edition series now available

Comes with a 5.25-inch drive bay

Showcased earlier in January at CES 2016 show in Las Vegas, EVGA's GTX 980 Ti VR Edition graphics cards are now available at EVGA shop, featuring a dedicated 5.25-inch drive bay with HDMI and USB 3.0 ports, making them ready for VR headsets.

Although it is quite similar to the earlier available EVGA GTX 980 Ti graphics cards, the new GTX 980 Ti VR Edition graphics cards will have a unique new feature as it features a dedicated HDMI output which connects to a bundled 5.25-inch drive bay with front HDMI 2.0 port and two USB 3.0 ports, allowing easier connection of the VR headset.

The rest of the specifications for the new GTX 980 Ti VR Edition graphics cards are pretty much standard and in case you missed it, it is based on a custom PCB with 6+2-phase VRM, drawing power from 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connectors and features Nvidia's GM200 GPU with 2816 CUDA cores.

The GPU works at 1000MHz base and 1076MHz GPU Boost clocks and it also also comes with 6GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 7010MHz and paired up with a 384-bit memory interface.

EVGA's new GTX 980 Ti VR Edition series will be available in two versions, with a standard HSF blower-style cooler and with EVGA's own custom ACX 2.0+ cooler, both versions lacking the backplate.

The HSF version is already available at EVGA's own web store while the ACX 2.0+ version should be available soon, both priced at US $699.99.
