While we have earlier showed you an entry in our European Modding Competition, today we will check out a neat mod by August called the Redox, which although not part of the competition, is a shining star in our modding forums.
Based on an InWin D-frame mini PC case, the Redox, a name which comes from Oxidiation and Reduction words, is a modding project based on the car-term Rat-Rod, which means we will see some rather nice hardware packed inside a rusty and beat-up finish case.
The entire mod is based on Gigabyte's GA-X99-UD3 motherboard with Intel Core i7-5820K CPU and two Geforce GTX 970 graphics cards, all powered by bequiet! PowerZone 850W PSU. It will also include some nice modded 32GB of DDR4-2133 RAM using OCZ Reaper heatsinks, modded/painted fans as well as modded and painted Intel SSDs.
Currently, the mod is still not finished and we can say that it is about half done and we are certainly looking forward to see the final result. Most recent mods have been focused on a clean design and/or steam punk look so rat-rod path is certainly a fresh idea.
You can check out the full worklog via link below and here are some pictures of the project so far.
