In a couple of Twitter posts, Oculus Founder and CEO, Palmer Luckey said that those interested can enjoy a stress-free holiday as pre-order will not open without warning and are coming soon after new year. He also noted that the manufacturing is on track and going well and that the Rift is still on-target for launch in Q1 2016.
Earlier today, a report also suggested that AMD has also delayed its flagship dual-GPU Fiji-based Gemini graphics card in order to align it with the launch of VR headsets so hopefully we will hear more about it next year.
Many users expected that pre-orders would launch around Christmas but now it appears that Oculus will probably wait for CES 2016 show to kick off in order to show a bit more details before opening up pre-orders for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
Thrilled to share some news: Manufacturing continues to go well, and we are still on-target for an awesome Rift launch in Q1!
